Among the seven wastes of TPS, we propose a method to eliminate the two wastes that cannot coexist within the paradigm of efficiency: "waste of inventory" and "waste of waiting" (stockouts)!
By applying system dynamics, which models the structure and causal relationships of the entire system rather than parts, to supply chain management for solving problems in management and social fields from the engineering domain, ICT infrastructure such as IoT and big data becomes an effective tool for creating profitable factories. Through simulations using profit velocity management accounting as a KPI, one can understand the significance of synchronization, the impact of inventory fluctuations and stockout phenomena, production capacity, and time on profits.
